This course includes an explanation for when and why informed supervision is required, the school's responsibility, the qualifications of informed supervisors, and how to create a safety plan.

  • Trends in Child Maltreatment, 2015 

  • Crimes Against Children Research Center

    • Child maltreatment includes all types of abuse and neglect of a child under the age of 18 by a parent, caregiver, or another person in a custodial role (e.g. clergy, coach, teacher).

    • There are four common types of abuse:

Cyberbullying Research Center

  • This website serves as a clearinghouse of information concerning the ways adolescents use and misuse technology. It is intended to be a resource for parents, educators, law enforcement officers, counselors, and others who work with youth (as well as for youth themselves!). Colorado Legislation on Sexting

  • Sexting Fact Sheet - 2017
    • Prior to the enactment of this law, prosecutors' only option for charging teen sexting behavior (even among consenting friends) was felony exploitation of a child. The new law, which applies to behavior on or after January 1, 2018, is a tiered approach which separates abusive forms of sexting (such as malicious distribution) from consensual electronic exchange of explicit images.
