School Access For Emergency Response (SAFER) Grant Announcement

LAKEWOOD - Wednesday, Mar. 2, 2022 - The Colorado Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Management (DHSEM) announces the availability of funds through the School Access For Emergency Response (SAFER) Grant Program created by the Colorado State Legislature's SB18-158.  The SAFER Grant Program provides funding for interoperable communication hardware, software, equipment maintenance, and training to allow for seamless communications between existing school communications systems and first responder communications systems.  

Application and Review Process

All eligible applications received by the due date of May 9, 2022, will be reviewed by the grant selection committee (GSC).  GSC members will review submitted applications each week throughout the application period to stay on track with the timetable put forth in the legislation, so please submit your application as soon as possible.  Please see the application for complete instructions on submitting your application.
