This NO COST virtual symposium brings together campus safety professionals; including administrators, mental health staff, law enforcement, security, emergency management, prevention and advocacy specialists, Title IX Coordinators, facilities, and IT professionals responsible for protecting campuses. Abstract:
University of Denver’s Resilience Collaborative exists to strengthen prevention of targeted violence, identify-based violence, and hate. By offering extensive training, professional mental health consultation, and educational resources, our aim is to build the capacity of agencies, professionals, and communities to identify and respond to concerning behaviors related to targeted violence and hate. Our team includes experienced licensed providers, educators, and researchers who tailor prevention resources and recommendations to each referral. This presentation will offer an overview of our mission, goals, and approaches, and considerations for prevention and intervention based on recent trends observed in education, health service, and community based settings.

In this interactive session, Adam Dodge of EndTAB will break down the current intimate image abuse landscape and highlight emerging issues facing students such as deepfakes and fake nude images. Attendees will also learn practical and relatable steps to identify, prevent and respond to nonconsensual pornography, pressure for nude images, sextortion and unwanted nude images - along with a primer on safer sexting best practices and informed conversations about intimate images that students can have with a partner.

Presentation Topic: Crisis Response Guidelines for IHE and K-12 Schools

Abstract:
The CSSRC staff will be presenting on a new set of Guidelines developed over the last several months by the Statewide Crisis Response Working Group. These Guidelines do not replace district and IHE’s Emergency Operations Plans (EOPs) but are an effort to help K-12 and institutions of higher education prepare for large-scale emergencies, assist during the events, and provide suggestions to help in the aftermath based on previous critical incidents.
No two crises are the same and therefore it is impossible to anticipate all situations. However, knowing what worked previously and what educators had wished were in place before an emergency, can help others before tragedy strikes.
